10 Top Tips to manage Anxiety in the time of Covid-19
1. Focus on your breath, fix your attention on it all the way from the beginning of the in breath to the end of the out breath, repeat, as many times as it takes to feel your anxiety dissolving away.
2. Create a structure for your day.
3. Reach out and speak to others by phone, by video platforms, by email, even by text, any way you can to decrease the sense of social isolation.
4. Limit your time viewing, listening or reading about the ever increasing dire death tolls around the world.
5. Be creative, sing, play, dance, sew, knit, paint etc. etc.
6. Be productive, do those domestic tasks that improve your immediate environment.
7. Be kind to anyone who needs some help, call them, drop off some shopping onto their doorsteps, reaching out in this way is good for you too.
8. Be kind to yourself too, enjoy some exercise, get into a green space if you can, ask your partner for a massage, give yourself something that you normally wouldn't have time to give to yourself.
9. Start a journal, give yourself some time to think about your life, write down your thoughts and feelings, use the space to find some space in your mind to re-imagine your future, make plans for when this is all over.
